Just accept it, its 1000 years!

Many times I find myself dreaming of the time, on this earth, when our LORD shall reign for 1000 glorious years.  I remember as a child, that this time period could not be explained but rather was explained away because it didn't fit our doctrine.  If I were to ask a series of questions to them now, I think my point would be clear.  Question #1 How many days did it rain in Noah's day?  Answer, no doubt, would be 40.  Question #2 Elijah prayed that it might not rain for how long?  Answer, no doubt, 3 years 6 months.  Question #3 As Jonah was in the deep, so was the Son of man in the heart of the earth for how long?  Answer, no doubt, 3 days.....You see where this is going?  Their text verse to disprove the 1000 years was II Peter 3:8.  This simply was Peter's answer to the "scoffers" in verse 3, that, in the last days would say, "Where is the promise of his coming?" and that time was no element to one who is eternal.  Though He hasn't returned as of yet----just hold on, He will!!  John said "thousand years" 6 times in 6 verses...point made.
